Dandenong Bites is a food truck and street-food venue where approved vendors can operate from designated spots on a monthly licence basis.
We plan to offer 15 vendor spots for approved food trucks/trailers/vendors (subject to final site layout and approvals).
Vendor spots are provided under a licence to occupy/use a designated spot, not a retail/commercial lease (unless otherwise agreed in writing).
Food truck operators, mobile food vendors, beverage vendors, dessert vendors, and selected specialty food businesses that meet our compliance and fit-out standards.
Yes. Vendors must hold and maintain all required licences, permits, and registrations, including relevant Food Trader / council registration/notification, food safety compliance, and any other approvals required by law before trading.
Yes. You must maintain valid insurance (including public liability and any other insurance required by law or by Dandenong Bites). Certificates of Currency must be provided before trading and kept current.
This depends on your package and site services. Some spots may include access to power and/or water, while others may require self-contained operation. Details will be confirmed in your licence agreement.
Yes. Approved operating hours will be set by Dandenong Bites and may change due to council requirements, local laws, seasonal demand, events, weather, or safety reasons.
No, unless prior written approval is given. Trading outside approved hours may lead to warnings, penalties, or termination of your licence.
Not automatically. Dandenong Bites may manage vendor mix to support diversity, but no exclusivity is guaranteed unless expressly agreed in writing.
Fees may include:
monthly licence fee (spot fee)
bond/security deposit
utility charges (if applicable)
cleaning/waste charges (if applicable)
late fees (if applicable)
Your specific fees will be listed in your offer/licence agreement.
Usually yes. A refundable security deposit/bond may be required to cover damage, cleaning, unpaid fees, or breaches.
Vendors must keep their spot and surrounding area clean at all times and properly dispose of waste, oil, grease, wastewater, packaging, and food waste in designated systems/areas.
Only if permitted and used safely in compliance with all applicable safety rules, fire requirements, and site rules. Dandenong Bites may restrict or prohibit certain equipment.
You must renew them before expiry and provide updated copies immediately. If your permits/insurance lapse, you may be suspended from trading until rectified.
Yes. For operational, safety, event, maintenance, or site planning reasons, Dandenong Bites may reallocate vendor positions.
Depending on the seriousness of the breach, Dandenong Bites may issue:
a warning
a compliance notice
temporary suspension
immediate termination (for serious breaches)
Generally no. Monthly spot fees are usually payable regardless of actual trading unless the agreement specifically says otherwise.
Submit a vendor application with your business details, menu, truck setup, permits, insurance, trading history/photos, and any requested documents. Shortlisted vendors may be contacted for inspection/interview.
